The Book the World Hasn't Seen Yet: Inside the ABA26 Slow Beauty Booklet

Eighty copies exist of the ABA26 Slow Beauty booklet. Sixty of them left Six Senses London on July 8th, in the hands of the guests who were in the room for this year's Attracta Beauty Awards ceremony - the UK's independent luxury beauty awards, themed Return to Beauty. Until now, that's where the story stayed.

A Booklet Built to Be Held, Not Scrolled

The inner pages are printed on GMUND cotton paper - a material favoured by book printers for its softness and purity. The cover uses Gmund Mother Earth, a paper made with a high proportion of fast-growing plant fibres and natural colour, designed to hold the texture of the natural world in the hand rather than on a screen. Every page carries a single flower, paired with short sentences meant to slow the reader down.

Each booklet was tied in jute string, its contents kept secret until a guest chose to untie it.

Why a Luxury Beauty Awards Ceremony Chose Restraint Over Reach

Slow Beauty was never a slogan for the Attracta Beauty Awards, it's a standard we hold our own output to as well, and a principle that separates an independent luxury beauty awards body from awards built around sponsorship or volume. A booklet built for scrolling would have missed the point entirely. This one was built to sit on a shelf, to be returned to, to be held rather than swiped past.

This is the first time it's being shown beyond that room, not the full contents. Some things are still worth discovering only in person.
